Stage 1: Eligibility 

In order to apply to The Westminster Foundation:

Your organisation needs to be a charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales, or Scotland, or with exclusively charitable objectives (organisations that have “exempt” or “excepted” status such as educational establishments and churches may qualify under these criteria).

Your funding request needs to benefit people within the UK, and specifically within one or more of these areas:
  • Westminster (parts of the old Metropolitan Borough of Westminster)
  • Cheshire West and Chester
  • North West Rural Lancashire (near the Forest of Bowland)
  • North West Sutherland

Your appeal should fall within our poverty-related guidelines.

Your funding request cannot be for an individual person, trips or holidays, an animal charity or a medical research charity, see more.

  • Grants are available for one-off requests of up to £5,000
  • Appeals are reviewed and decided on by our Grants Panel, which meets approximately every ten weeks
